Suggestions for camp food

Each group should decide on their meals and what they will eat (this will also be discussed at the training sessions) and who will provide what item. The practice main meal is usually cooked on the Saturday training day.

For the expedition, in the group each member should bring some of the items for the main meals and breakfasts and each bring their own packed lunch for the relevant number of days away.

Suggested main meals:
Super-noodles, pasta, spaghetti with pasta sauces/cheese/sausages/eggs
Cheesy pasta
Bacon and eggs
Curry and Rice
Chilli con carne
The above can also be 'flavoured' with sauces e.g. ketchup

Suggested lunch items:
Sandwiches/rolls or wraps
Sausage rolls/scotch eggs (suitable for lunch on day 1 only particularly in hot weather)
Cereal or fruit bars (chocolate melts too easily!)
Energy bars
Raisins/dried fruit
Trail mix
Fresh fruit
Fresh vegetables
Plenty of fluids, preferably water or weak squash, but NO CANS!
